Online scanners / fixed mount scanners / vision system (fixed mount scanners for scanning / validation) Online / fixed mount scanners are used to scan, validate and based on validation, allows to next process or rejects from production line. For a few customised applications, these scanners are used for inspection of desired content / image / OCR reading
Line Conveyor and its components (non-AIDC), product sensors , mounting profiles, connection boxes, PLC unit, gap creator, pneumatic system, audio / visual (buzzer / tower light) Line conveyors are used for the smooth product movement. Product sensors are used for sensing the arrival of the product at the scanning station. The mounting profiles includes aluminium profiles, angle brackets, anchor fastners, cement bolts, nuts & bolts. The connection box are meant for proper connection of all components including power source, input / output devices. PLC unit is included to do simple tasks on the devices / components connected based on the logic designed. The gap creator is generally used to create gap between two products enabling the sensing of individual products. The pneumatic system is used to divert / push the rejected product from the production line. The audio / visual system (alarm / buzzer) is used to physically indicate the result of the action performed.
Rejection mechanism / product diverter including pneumatic / hydrolic system and rejection bin / gravity conveyor The rejection mechanism using pneumatic / hydrolic techniques are used to divert / push the rejected product from the production line. The rejected product can be diverted to other conveyor or pushed into the rejection or sloped downwards using a gravity conveyor.
Online printer / offline printer (industrial printers) Industrial class printers are used for printing carton label / pallet label based on the scope defined as online printing or offline (batch printing) and manual affixing of these labels on cartons. These printers are designed to sustain industrial conditions including usage of un-skilled / semi skilled labors. The products are rugged with least down-time. The repair / replacement of faulty parts is simple and down with least downtime.
Print and apply systems (automatic or semi-automatic production lines) Print & apply systems are used for automated / semi-automated production lines for printing carton label / pallet label. These systems are designed for 24X7 operations with least maintenance time. The failure of these system is very less since least human intervention is involved.
Line diverters These are used for efficiently handling high speed production lines.
Handheld scanners (Wired/Cordless) / handheld terminal for palletization Handheld scanners (Wired) are used for scanning secondary cartons for aggregation into Pallets before its movement to plant warehouse. These are connected to work stations through wired / USB connectivity. In case of seamless connection to work stations, cordless / BT scanners are used in place of wired scanners. Handheld terminals are used in case the scanning & validation is desired to happen on the same device without any connection to work station.

Handheld terminals / vehicle mount terminals (industrial tablet mounted on the fork lift with touch screen) Handheld terminals ( Wi-Fi) are used in warehouses for various processes including inward of finished goods from manufacturing unit into warehouses or dispatching of finished goods from warehouse to system defined locations / depots / dealers / retailers. The validation on the HHTs happen online with wifi connectivity to server or in batch mode by storing the scanned items into its memory and validation on connecting these devices to host system and transfering the data from HHTs to host system / server. If the warehouse application demands forklift operations, then vehicle mount terminals are used in place of handheld terminals. These industrial grade VMTs are mounted on the forklift which have big screen for better visibility. Industrial grade wired / cordless (BT) scanners are tithered to the VMTs for reading pallet barcodes or the pallet location while placing or picking of pallets.
Integration with automatic storage and retrieval system In this concept, the cartons, pallets are barcoded / tagged with RFID. These cartons/pallets are moved towards the ASRS system through conveyors or Forklift. The pallets/cartons barcode are scanned using fixed reader / HHTs / VMTs at the ASRS inward. Based on the barcode read, the system directs / places the carton/pallet at the respective allocation provided by System/software. The product & it's location address is updated/registered into system/software.

Whenever a pick list is created for dispatch, the same is transferred to ASRS system. The Automatic Retrieval System ensures the correct cartons/pallets are picked from appropriate locations from the warehouse & forwarded for dispatch.

Using ASRS it is possible to maximize the warehouse usage area with best optimization considering various aspects of FIFO/LIFO based on its shelf life, demand, batch etc.
Work Station A work station is a system which is connected to the host server in which the application related to inward, inventory, dispatch are installed. This system helps in generation of reports including material in stock, its location in warehouse, picklist generation, TP generation, inventory report etc. This work station is connected to HHRs / HHTs via USB or Wi-Fi connectivity.
Line conveyor and componets (camera cum scanner, rejection system, sensor mounting profile, buzzer system and tower light) Line conveyors including camera cum scanner, product sensor, mounting profile and audio / visual indication are generally used for automated inward / dispatches. These are critical during especially during month end, where HHTs /HHRs consume more time for scanning and validation.
Smartphone / handheld scanner (wired / wireless) Smartphone or handheld scanner is usually used for manual process including inbound, put-away, pick-up and dispatch operations. They are ideal for low speed operations. However android terminals are preferred over smartphone for their ruggedness and better life span of OS and service support (post sales).

Handheld terminals / handheld readers (wired or cordlesss) Handheld terminals (Wi-Fi) are used in depots / distributors for inward of material from plant / factory, updation of depot / distributor inventory and dispatches of goods from depot / distributor to system defined locations of dealers / retailers. The validation on the HHTs happen online with Wi-Fi connectivity to server or in batch mode by storing the scanned items into its memory and validation on connecting these devices to host system and transfering the data from HHTs to host system / server. If the warehouses are small, then wired handheld scanners / cordless (BT) scanners are used in place of HHTs. These scanners are connected to host system (work station) vis USB interface.

Smartphone / Android Terminal (Scanners) Usually field force and after-sales service teams are equipped with smartphones or Android terminals which have GPS, GPRS connectivity and have pre-installed validation cum authentication software. These devices are used by field force team to authenticate the product and track its movment throughout its life cycle while service personnel use it for verifying warranty and reporting service issues. Android terminals are preferred over smartphones usually for their ruggedness and better life span of OS and service support (post sales).
